Privacy Policy

1. Data We Collect

Account data: When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and an encrypted password. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe — we do not store your full card details.

Profile data: You may optionally provide a profile photo, display name, and social media handle.

Usage data: We collect information about how you use the Service, including carousels created, features used, and session timestamps. This is used solely to improve the Service.

Content data: Text, documents, images, and URLs you provide as input to generate carousels. These are processed in real time and are not stored beyond the generation session, except for the final carousel images you choose to save.

Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and cookies necessary for authentication and session management.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• To process payments and manage your subscription.
• To send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, billing receipts).
• To respond to support requests and communicate service updates.
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your content to train AI models.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Scorper:

• Supabase (EU, London) — Authentication and database hosting.
• Stripe — Payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Vercel — Application hosting and file storage (carousel images).
• Anthropic (Claude) — AI text generation. Your input text is sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train models.
• OpenAI (Whisper) — Optional audio transcription for YouTube URLs. Subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.

Each third-party service processes data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

4. Data Storage & Retention

• Account and profile data is stored for as long as your account is active.
• Generated carousel images are stored in cloud storage until you delete them or delete your account.
• Reference documents (PDFs, text files) uploaded during carousel creation are processed in memory and are not permanently stored.
• Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymised usage statistics may be retained.

5. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. No cookie consent banner is required as we only use essential cookies.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Export your data in a portable format.
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

The Service is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States (Vercel, Anthropic, OpenAI) and the European Union (Supabase). We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
